Programs and Activities for Residents, Staff, and Volunteers

Programs & Activities

St. Mary’s Court enjoys a strong relationship with George Washington University whose staff and students bring their expertise and energy to activities with residents.  Throughout the year, students are involved with residents in Apartment Clean-up Days, Manicure Days, Bingo, Senior Prom Night, Thanksgiving lunches, summertime Ice Cream Socials, and creative group activities that connect young people with residents.  GWU’s ISCOPES (Interdisciplinary Student Community-Oriented Prevention Enhancement Service) https://www.iscopesgw.org/ program is another benefit to residents who attend workshops and events focused on health, nutrition, and mental wellness – all programs designed to strengthen relationships and reduce isolation. Residents are able to use the GWU Wellness Center free of charge. St. Mary’s Court recognizes all who offer their time and talents at an annual Volunteer Appreciation Night.  We celebrate the arts with an evening that collaboratively recognizes talents of residents and members of the Woodley Park Arts Group.  The community also acknowledges the passing of residents at an annual Remembrance Service.
